Re-Elect Idowu Balogun for Maintenance Divsion Director

 

My name is Idowu Balogun, aka “Director Balogun,” your current Maintenance Division Director. I am a proud member of the Greater Los Angeles Area Local. I come before you seeking your support and your vote to continue as your Maintenance Director in Washington DC. 

Since 2018, after the passing of our Director Raymer, I accepted the call to duty with the utmost humility and began preparing the course and direction for the Maintenance negotiation table and National Convention. After working as Representative at Large for ten years and Assistant Director A for five years, all in the Maintenance Division, Washington DC. I was the Maintenance Spokesperson in the last three sets of National Negotiations successfully. I know without reservation that the current Maintenance Negotiation Team are equipped for the task at hand and the challenges ahead, in a time like this.

I have dedicated my entire Postal career to the Maintenance Division. In 2012 as a visionary, I created, championed and monitored the web-based Electronic Grievance System (EGS) from inception. I consider this six-year project one of the greatest accomplishments of my career. EGS is now being used daily by over four hundred APWU locals Officers, thousands of stewards around the country and across all Crafts. In 2024 our Maintenance Strong Team settled Part-time Regular Cap violation for $15 million dollars and fifty conversion to Full time positions. In February 2025, arbitrated a very controversial “Promotion Cancellation “ dispute.

Keep Maintenance Strong by re-electing Assistant Director (A)Terry B. Martinez and Assistant Director (B) Jason Treier. The three of us complement one another with the single focus of keeping the Maintenance Craft well-represented. Our dedication to Maintenance Craft is well recognized by the overwhelming support of our Maintenance National Business Agents.
