Re-Elect Arrion Brown for Support Services Division Director
Greetings to all members of our APWU Support Services Division.
My name is Arrion Brown and I humbly ask for your support and vote to continue as our National APWU Support Services Division Director. I am a member of the APWU Leadership Team 2025, led by Eastern Region Coordinator A.J. Jones, who support my candidacy, as I also support our team.
As our Support Services Director, I have led our division to many successful accomplishments during my tenure. Whether it has been contract negotiations, improvements in working conditions, or worker-led actions, the success of our accomplishments has been rooted in my belief and vision that the workers are the strength of the union.
With a belief in workers as my guiding principle, I have led several contract negotiations where proposals for changes to the agreement were generated by meeting with our bargaining committees that consist of our dedicated rank-and-file members. The discussions with our bargaining committees give the background to argue for changes and improvements that the bargaining unit values the most. The changes we have achieved provide a remarkable advancement for workers covered under that agreement.
I successfully negotiated a Remote Work Pilot program that allows some of our IT employees to work from home anywhere in the continental US. These employees were domiciled in one of our four IT/AS Centers, which prevented them from relocating to other areas of the country. Under the pilot program many IT employees covered under the program have successfully relocated to other areas of the country and kept the jobs with the Postal Service.
One of the proudest moments I have had as Director was leading the strike effort of our 10 Roads Express workers based in Peoria, IL in December 2022. This was the first private sector strike APWU represented worker in over a decade. The effort was successful due to the collaboration of APWU leader.
