Re-Elect Sarah Jane Rodriguez for Health Plan Director
As your APWU Health Plan Director, I am deeply committed to ensuring access to affordable, quality healthcare for all our members.
Serving as your Director since 2019, we have seen significant growth in Health Plan membership. I am particularly proud that our premiums remain well below the average in the PSHB, and in 2025, our High Option members experienced a substantial 13% reduction in their premiums, putting more money back in their pockets. We have also successfully added valuable new benefits, such as our Medicare Advantage enhancement for retirees, while maintaining our existing strong coverage.
I understand firsthand how critically important access to affordable; quality healthcare is for our current and retired members and their families. As a wife and mother, and a longtime member of the APWU Health Plan myself, I rely on its strength and future just as you do. Our membership, including my own family, drives my commitment to continuously seek ways to improve our plan and protect its long-term viability.
Moving forward, my priorities include further exploring opportunities to expand our network of providers and continuing to negotiate for the lowest possible premiums without compromising the quality of our benefits. Your continued support will allow me to build on our progress and continue working tirelessly for the best interests of all APWU Health Plan members.
I began my postal career as a non-career employee 32 years ago at age 18. I bring over 19 years of dedicated union leadership experience to this role. Prior to being elected as your National Health Plan Director, I served the Phoenix Metro Area Local as Chief Steward, Step 2 Designee, Editor, Co-coordinator of PMAL POWER chapter, APWU representative for the Maricopa Area Labor Federation, and served three terms as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Phoenix Metro Area Local.
I respectfully ask for your vote, and support.
In Union Solidarity,
Sarah Rodriguez, National APWU Health Plan Director
