Re-Elect Michael O. Foster for MVS Division Director
Michael O. (Mike) Foster respectfully requests your vote and support for him, Assistant MVS Director Garrett Langley and the entire APWU Leadership Team 2025 in the upcoming National Union elections.
Mike has spent an entire postal career in the Motor Vehicle Service Craft fighting for the protections and benefits of APWU members.
With the vicious attacks on workers rights, unions, and the many gains made by organized labor, it is critical to have proven leadership during these times.
Some of the accomplishments under Mike’s leadership as the MVS Director has been the challenging of USPS attempts to subcontract PVS operations in the entire state of California and subsequently in all 162 PVS sites nationwide.
We were successful in negotiating the installation of air conditioning and radios in all truck purchases. We negotiated last chance agreements for first time positive DOT drug and alcohol test failures.
We have had career changing successes in national level arbitrations with the Das 110 HCR , and the Brent 600 HCR awards.
Both these decisions gave work to MVS that was previously performed by contractors.
As a result of our fight the Craft has grown significantly during these times when postal management continue using any and all tactics to reduce bargaining units.
Looking ahead with a vision to protect our future, we have negotiated to create a new category of PVS driver, the Postal Vehicle Operator ( PVO ) an entry level position that doesn’t require a CDL.
Throughout his career Mike has firmly believed that “ The purpose of the Union is to find work for its members “, and has fearlessly fought to find opportunities and improve the lives of his members.
As he continues to help prepare the next generation of MVS APWU leadership for the challenges that will undoubtedly come from postal management intent on contracting out, and violating the contract, he asks you to support him to continue the journey , “keep MVS strong, and when we fight we win.”
Michael O. Foster
