Re-Elect Nancy E. Olumekor for Retirees Department Director

APWU Retirees,

Thank you for supporting me.  I am asking for your vote to RE-ELECT me APWU RETIREE DIRECTOR.  

I know that APWU retirees fought long and hard to have the right to elect the APWU Retiree Director and we are still fighting.  At the 2022 National Convention, I along with other retiree leaders stood before the National Convention fighting for retiree members rights to be heard-with a voice and vote at the National Convention.  The delegates heard us and supported retirees by approving a voice and vote for each retiree chapter. 

For years we fought for the repeal of the WEP/GPO and finally late in 2024, after over forty (40) years Congress passed the Social Security Fairness Act and on January 5, 2025 when President Biden signed into law the repeal of the WEP/GPO, APWU was there represented by Mark Dimondstein-President, Judy Beard-Political & Legislative Director and me-Nancy E. Olumekor-Retiree Director. We are under attack as retirees and working people and we are still fighting for justice.

I am uniquely qualified to continue in this position that is why I am asking for your vote to Re-Elect me the APWU Retiree Director. Our issues must continue to be addressed in every forum and I will do whatever I can as Retiree Director to advocate for you, to protect our hard-earned benefits and rights at OPM, USPS, Social Security and Capitol Hill.  I will continue to make the necessary changes to grow the Retirees Department and create improvements that benefit all members.    

Administratively, we  organized new retiree chapters and increased the number of dues paying retiree members; provided educational workshops, seminars and information for retirees and working members; engaged and involved your retiree chapter leaders with periodic conference calls; worked with officers and retiree members at the Local, State and National levels and allies on behalf of retiree and workers issues on Capitol Hill and other federal agencies.

The APWU Leadership Team 2025 consists of skilled, devoted unionists standing together to fight back all attacks.  The fight is here, the challenges are vast, and the APWU Leadership Team 2025 has the ability, motivation, and desire to meet the challenges of today and the future.
